This policy explains how HomeCert Ltd ("we", "us", "our") collects and uses your personal data when you use our website or services, in accordance with the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.

Who we are

HomeCert Ltd, registered in England & Wales (company number 09821104), registered office at Unit 44a/54, Battersea Business Centre, 99–109 Lavender Hill, London SW11 5QL. We are the data controller for the personal data we process. ICO registration to be confirmed.

What data we collect

  • Contact & enquiry data - name, email, phone, property postcode and any details you provide via our forms, the Compliance Wizard or the Certificate Tracker.
  • Service data - information needed to quote for and carry out work at your property.
  • Technical data - with your consent, anonymised analytics about how you use the site (see our Cookie Policy).

How we use your data and our lawful basis

  • To respond to enquiries and provide quotes - legitimate interests / steps prior to a contract.
  • To deliver services you book and meet our legal obligations - performance of a contract / legal obligation.
  • To send certificate-renewal reminders where you have asked us to - consent.
  • To improve our website via analytics - consent.

Sharing your data

We do not sell your data. We share it only with trusted processors who help us run our business (for example, secure hosting, email and CRM providers), all bound by appropriate data-protection terms, and where required by law.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiry data for as long as needed to deal with your enquiry and for a reasonable period afterwards. Records relating to work carried out are kept in line with legal and insurance requirements (for example, certificate records for the periods required by the relevant regulations).

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict or object to our processing of your data, and the right to data portability. Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw it at any time. To exercise any right, email info@home-cert.com.

You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
