Electrical Installation Condition Report · EICR
The five-yearly electrical safety report every rented home in England must hold.
Since 1 June 2020, the Electrical Safety Standards in the Private Rented Sector (England) Regulations 2020 require landlords to ensure the electrical installations in their rented properties are inspected and tested by a qualified person at least every five years.
An EICR assesses the condition of the fixed wiring, consumer unit, sockets and accessories against BS 7671 (the 18th Edition Wiring Regulations) and records any observations as C1 (danger present), C2 (potentially dangerous) or C3 (improvement recommended). A satisfactory report must be supplied to tenants within 28 days and to the local authority on request.
As an NICEIC Approved Contractor of ten years, HomeCert carries out EICRs across London and Surrey with the report typically available the next working day - and any C1/C2 remedial work quoted and completed by the same team.
