Fire detection and alarm systems in HMOs, blocks of flats and commercial premises must be maintained in efficient working order under the Fire Safety Order 2005, with servicing carried out to the relevant parts of BS 5839.
A Fire Alarm Certificate evidences that the system has been inspected, tested and confirmed operational - a routine requirement of managing agents and insurers.
